The Springs Course was designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr., working with his son Rees, and opened in 1971 as The Springs Golf Course on land that was part of the Frank Lloyd Wright estate until 1967. The property reopened as the Springs Golf Club Resort in 1993, and in 1994 it added the North Nine, designed by Roger Packard and two-time U.S. Open champion Andy North. It later took the House on the Rock Resort name.
