White Mountain Country Club

Est. 1976 · Geoffrey Cornish (with Bill Robinson); renovated by Robert McNeil (2023-2025)
Why we love this place

Cornish laid out a riverside course here in 1976, and the Owl's Nest team is giving it a second life with a full renovation and a vineyard to match. Pemigewasset River holes followed by a glass of local wine? That's a combination we can't resist.

About White Mountain Country Club

White Mountain Country Club opened in 1976 along the Pemigewasset River in Ashland, an 18-hole public course of about 6,500 yards designed by Geoffrey Cornish with Bill Robinson. For decades it served golfers in the towns between the Lakes Region and the White Mountains. In July 2022 the club was bought by LCJ Management, owner of Owl's Nest Resort in nearby Campton, which hired Robert McNeil of the Northeast Golf Company to lead a major upgrade. The course closed on August 1, 2023 for a full 18-hole renovation that brought new and expanded tees, re-routed holes, dozens of new bunkers, tree management, upgraded irrigation and refreshed cart paths, with work continuing into 2025. The club has been rebranded as the Owl's Nest Vineyard Course, with plans to turn the property's former landing strip into a vineyard and event venue.
