Barton Creek Fazio Canyons

Fazio Canyons is the second Tom Fazio design at Barton Creek Resort, opening in 1999 as a more expansive, walkable complement to the resort's original Fazio course. Set in the rolling Texas Hill Country west of Austin, the par-72 layout stretches beyond 7,100 yards and follows Short Spring Branch, a creek that winds through fairways framed by red oaks, sycamores and weathered limestone. Wide corridors and bold, sweeping greens reward confident driving, while native-grass surrounds and steady elevation changes keep scoring honest. In 2019 the course reopened after a roughly $5 million, seven-month renovation that rebuilt greens, bunkers and turf throughout. One of four courses at the Omni-operated resort, Canyons pairs championship length with the spacious, unhurried feel that defines much of Fazio's resort work.
