Bear Creek Golf Club opened in 1980 as Rees Jones's first solo course design. It sits within the gated Hilton Head Plantation community on the north end of Hilton Head Island, routing a par-72, roughly 6,800-yard layout through pines and lagoons. Rees Jones returned for a full renovation in 2005-2006, rebuilding the greens with TifEagle Bermuda, and the course holds Audubon International Cooperative Sanctuary certification.
