Boyne Resorts - Moor Course

The Moor is one of the championship courses at The Highlands, formerly Boyne Highlands, in Harbor Springs, Michigan. Designed by Michigan architect William Newcomb and opened in 1974, it spreads across gentler, more open terrain than its heavily wooded neighbors, incorporating wetlands, ponds and marshy moor ground that give the course its name and much of its strategy. The par-72 routing is known for twisting corridors, generous landing areas and water that increasingly comes into play on the back nine, including a demanding par 4 built around multiple ponds and a snaking par-5 finishing hole. Newcomb, who also designed the Alpine course at Boyne Mountain, built a layout that rewards shot placement over raw length. Over the years the Moor has hosted junior competition, including the American Junior Golf Association's Junior All-Star Championship, and it helps round out one of the Midwest's deepest single-resort golf collections.
