Boyne Resorts - Heather Course

The Heather is the flagship course at The Highlands, long known as Boyne Highlands, in Harbor Springs, Michigan. Designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr. and opened in 1966, it was the first BOYNE golf course and helped ignite the resort-golf boom across northern Michigan, a region now marketed as America's Summer Golf Capital. The par-72 layout stretches past 7,100 yards, with wide, tree-lined fairways, expansive bunkering and water in play, culminating in a signature closing hole that demands a carry over a lake. Within a few years of opening, Golf Digest ranked it among the top 100 courses in the United States. The Heather has hosted numerous Michigan Amateurs and junior championships and was recognized as the 2019 National Course of the Year. It remains the design many players consider the classic Trent Jones test in Michigan's north woods.
