About Butterfield Trail Golf Club

Butterfield Trail Golf Club is an 18-hole daily-fee course that opened in June 2007, designed by architect Tom Fazio. It is owned by the El Paso International Airport and sits adjacent to the airport. The name references the historic Butterfield Overland Mail route (1858-1861), part of whose original trail crosses the property. The course has been repeatedly ranked among America's top municipal courses by Golfweek, and briefly closed around 2019-2020 before reopening under a new operator.
