Duke University Golf Club

Duke University Golf Club is an original Robert Trent Jones Sr. design. The university engaged the widely respected architect in the mid-1950s, and the course opened to the public on September 26, 1957, quickly earning recognition as one of the top university golf facilities in the nation. In a fitting piece of family history, the course was restored in 1993 by Rees Jones, Robert Trent Jones Sr.'s son, who had himself competed in the 1962 NCAA Championship held at Duke. The renovation preserved the elder Jones's original routing while rebuilding all greens, tees, and fairway bunkers and regrading most fairways. The refreshed layout went on to host the 2001 NCAA Men's Golf Championship. Adjacent to the Washington Duke Inn, the club remains a highly regarded public championship course and a mainstay of Duke's golf program.
