The Foothills nine is one of three nines in Jack Nicklaus's 27-hole Signature design at the private Governors Club in Chapel Hill, NC, which opened in 1990. Set on rolling North Carolina hill terrain with ponds, it pairs with the Lakes nine to form the club's premier 18-hole combination of about 7,100 yards. A third nine was added in the mid-1990s as the design expanded to 27 holes.
