About Grande Dunes Resort Course
The Grande Dunes Resort Course opened in 2001 as the public centerpiece of the sprawling Grande Dunes development in Myrtle Beach. It was designed by Roger Rulewich, a longtime senior architect and apprentice to Robert Trent Jones Sr., and it reflects that lineage with generous, bold shaping. The routing plays up to roughly 7,600 yards from the championship tees, with a rating above 77, and is defined by its position high along the Intracoastal Waterway, offering more waterway frontage than nearly any other Grand Strand course. Several holes run beside or above the water, capped by an elevated, much-praised par-3 fourteenth perched over the channel. Rulewich built exceptionally large, deep greens, some 40 to 45 yards front-to-back, so club selection and distance control matter as much as direction. A Mediterranean-style clubhouse anchors the upscale resort setting.
