Haig Point Club was founded in 1986 by International Paper as a private 1,050-acre community on Daufuskie Island, reached only by ferry from Hilton Head. Rees Jones, working with Greg Muirhead, designed the Signature course that same year and returned in 2007 to restore the greens; the club also has a Jones-designed 9-hole Osprey course. International Paper transferred the amenities to members in 2001, and the club has been member-operated since 2009.
