Indian Springs Golf Club

Est. 1964 · Al Zikorus
Why we love this place

We love Indian Springs as a true family course: built by Alan Parmelee in 1964 and still run by his family, with a hilly Al Zikorus nine that plays bigger than its yardage. It's quick, affordable and welcoming, and the patio view makes the nineteenth hole very hard to leave.

About Indian Springs Golf Club

Indian Springs Golf Club opened in 1964 on Mack Road in Middlefield, a small town in central Connecticut just minutes from Interstate 91. Alan S. Parmelee built the course and opened it to the public, working from a design by Connecticut architect Al Zikorus, and the Parmelee family has operated it ever since, giving Indian Springs more than half a century of continuous family stewardship. The layout is a hilly nine-hole, par-36 course of roughly 3,000 yards, routed over rolling, tree-covered ground that makes it play longer than the card suggests. In recent years the family has invested steadily in the property, redoing the driving range, overhauling the first tee area, adding a putting green behind the clubhouse, and renovating the clubhouse and bar in 2013 along with a back patio that looks out over the course. A cafe serves lunch and dinner during the golf season, making the club a gathering place for Middlefield and the surrounding towns.
