Why we love this place

We love Topstone as a dependable, well-groomed daily-fee course that treats public golfers right. Al Zikorus's rolling layout has enough length and bite on holes like the 14th to keep good players honest, while leagues, junior golf and a friendly cafe make it feel like a true community home course.

About Topstone Golf Club

Topstone Golf Course opened in 1997 off Griffin Road in South Windsor, a few miles northeast of Hartford, adding a daily-fee championship layout to the area's public golf scene. The 18-hole, par-72 course is credited to Al Zikorus, the Connecticut architect whose public designs also include Timberlin and Rolling Meadows. Its routing plays across rolling hills and stretches to about 6,550 yards from the back tees, with the two nines nearly identical in length. The 518-yard par-5 fifth is the longest hole, the 200-yard fourth is the longest of the one-shotters, and the 423-yard fourteenth ranks as the hardest hole on the card. The course built its reputation on conditioning and value, and Golf Channel named it one of the Hartford area's top five public-course values. A clubhouse with a golf shop, the Three Seasons Cafe and banquet space supports men's and women's leagues, PGA Jr. League and a busy schedule of charity outings.
