Why we love this place

We love Rolling Meadows as an honest, welcoming everyday course with real personality, from the downhill tee shots on the 2nd and 8th to the Berkshire views. Now that weekend public tee times are open again, it's an easy north-central Connecticut favorite for a Saturday round with friends.

About Rolling Meadows Country Club

Rolling Meadows Country Club opened in 1997 in Ellington, in north-central Connecticut just a few miles from both Hartford and Springfield. The 18-hole, par-72 course is credited to architect Al Zikorus and stretches to roughly 6,800 yards from the back tees, with shorter sets of tees that bring it down to about 5,300 yards. The front side blends conventional challenges with a few distinctive touches, including downhill tee shots on the 2nd and the 8th, where the par-3 green makes judging distance and bounce especially tricky. Elevated ground on the property opens up views toward the Berkshire Mountains in the distance. For much of its history weekend mornings were hard for outsiders to get, but the club recently opened weekend public tee times for the first time in more than twenty years, and it continues to run leagues, a teaching program and a tavern on site.
