Kiawah Island Golf Resort - Osprey Point

Osprey Point was the third 18-hole course to open at Kiawah Island Golf Resort, debuting in 1988, the same year Kiawah Resort Associates acquired the island. Tom Fazio originally conceived it as a members-only layout, and it earned early praise for its playability. Rather than chasing the ocean, Fazio routed the course through Kiawah's interior, weaving among four natural bodies of water, tidal salt marsh, and stands of live oak and pine. Generous fairways and approachable greens make it the friendliest of the resort's designs, while lagoons and bunkering supply the strategy. The par-72 layout stretches to roughly 6,900 yards. Fazio returned in 2014 to oversee a full renovation, regrassing tees, greens, and fairways with salt-tolerant Paspalum turf suited to the Lowcountry coast.
