About Kingsmill Resort - Plantation Course
The Plantation Course was designed by Arnold Palmer and his longtime design partner Ed Seay, opening in the mid-1980s at Kingsmill Resort on a historic tract along the James River near Williamsburg. The routing weaves past landmarks tied to the 18th-century Kingsmill Plantation, and the course is known for its approachable, player-friendly character: generous fairways, gentle movement and multi-tiered greens that reward accurate irons and sound putting rather than raw length. It serves as a more relaxed complement to Kingsmill's flagship River Course, the Pete Dye layout that for decades welcomed professional golf to the resort, hosting numerous PGA Tour and LPGA Tour events. Together the courses anchor one of Virginia's most established resort golf destinations, blending colonial history with a variety of playing experiences.
