Opened May 14, 1955 as Pine Brook Country Club on about 300 acres of the former Cox Farm off Germanton Road in Winston-Salem, with Ellis Maples designing the course. It was renamed Maple Chase Golf & Country Club after Lynn Murphy and Lynette Matthews-Murphy bought and reinvested in the club in 2013, and it remains a members-only private club.
