The Mountain nine is the most elevation-influenced of the three nines in Jack Nicklaus's 27-hole Signature design at the private Governors Club in Chapel Hill, NC. The design opened in 1990; the Mountain loop is the shorter of the three and plays as a supporting nine to the Lakes/Foothills championship combination, built as part of the early-1990s Nicklaus buildout.
