About Old Town Country Club
Old Town Club was established around 1938-1939 when Charlie and Mary Reynolds Babcock of the R.J. Reynolds tobacco family set out to build a private club on a former Reynolds horse farm. Perry Maxwell routed the course over the site's natural ridges, knolls, swales and ravines, producing the undulating greens known as "Maxwell's rolls." A top-100 private layout, it was restored by Coore & Crenshaw in 2003 and hosted the LPGA Babe Zaharias Open in 1957 and 1958.
