About Painted Dunes Desert Golf Course
Painted Dunes Desert Golf Course is a 27-hole municipal desert course in northeast El Paso, carved out of the Chihuahuan Desert at the foot of the Franklin Mountains. The original 18 holes, designed by Ken Dye, opened in 1991; a third (North) nine, designed by Jeffrey Brauer, was added in 1999, giving the East, West and North nines. Owned by the City of El Paso and managed by KemperSports, it has been recognized among the top public facilities in Texas and the Southwest.
