About River Crest Country Club

River Crest Country Club opened on May 6, 1911, making it the oldest country club in Fort Worth and the eighth country club in Texas. The original course was laid out by Tom Bendelow in 1911, and the design was later revised by A.W. Tillinghast in 1921. The club was the first in the state to include a surrounding residential development and the first to stage a statewide women's golf tournament, with members helping found the Women's Texas Golf Association in 1916. It remains a private club.
