Running Y Ranch Resort

The Running Y Ranch Resort golf course near Klamath Falls in southern Oregon holds a unique distinction: it is the only Arnold Palmer-designed course in the state. Opened in 1997 and crafted by Palmer's design firm alongside Ed Seay and Erik Larsen, the par-72 layout moves through two contrasting landscapes. The front nine skirts open meadows and an extensive historic wetlands area, where several forced carries over water come into play, while the back nine winds through lake-dotted woodlands characteristic of the Oregon high country. Palmer is said to have counted the course among his personal favorites. Over the years Running Y has drawn recognition for its playing conditions and its standing as a top public-access destination in the region, offering a genuine Palmer design far from Oregon's better-known coastal and Cascade golf.
