Tanglewood Reynolds Course

The Reynolds Course is one of two Robert Trent Jones Sr. eighteens at Tanglewood Park, a former Reynolds-family estate turned public park in Clemmons, North Carolina, along the Yadkin River. It opened in 1964, six years after its more famous sibling, the Championship Course, and received later Jones revisions around 1972. While the adjacent Championship Course is the layout that hosted the 1974 PGA Championship, won by Lee Trevino over Jack Nicklaus, and later the 1986 U.S. Amateur Public Links, the Reynolds Course built its own following as a tree-lined, strategically bunkered par-72 that many locals rate a stern test in its own right. Golf Digest has ranked Reynolds among the nation's top public courses, and together the two layouts make Tanglewood one of the Piedmont's premier public-golf destinations.
