The Currituck Club is a Rees Jones course on the Outer Banks at Corolla. It opened in late June 1996 after more than five years of planning and 14 months of building. Jones routed it through the dunes and maritime forest with little earth-moving. The land was once hunting ground for the Currituck Shooting Club, founded in 1857. Its cedar-shake clubhouse, rebuilt in 1879 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, is visible from the seventh tee. It's semi-private and open to public play.
