The Cholla Course was We-Ko-Pa's first, opening in December 2001 on land of the Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation northeast of Scottsdale. Scott Miller designed it, and the club's name comes from the Yavapai words for the Four Peaks that rise above it. With no homes along its fairways, it set the tone for the Coore and Crenshaw Saguaro Course that followed.
