Wild Dunes - Links Course

The Links Course at Wild Dunes opened in 1980 and holds a special place in golf-design history as Tom Fazio's first solo effort after years working alongside his uncle George. Set on the Isle of Palms just outside Charleston, the course helped earn Fazio national recognition and launch one of the most decorated careers in modern architecture. The late Mike Strantz, later a celebrated architect in his own right, served as the on-site shaper. The routing plays through towering sand dunes and coastal maritime terrain, building toward a dramatic finish where the Atlantic Ocean provides the backdrop. The course has evolved over time, including a multi-million-dollar renovation, and its oceanfront closing holes remain among the most scenic in South Carolina, a fitting stage for the debut of a future master.
