The course was formerly Sharon Country Club and is now one of the golf properties of Avalon Holdings of Warren, Ohio. The Sharon Herald reported that the company's chairman bought the club in July 2006 and planned to make it the flagship of his three-course group. GolfPass credits the original design to Tom Bendelow and lists 1907 as the year built. The par-70 layout plays 6,369 yards from its longest tees.
