About Baker Hill Golf Club
Baker Hill Golf Club sits on roughly 260 acres of former farmland in Newbury, New Hampshire, overlooking Lake Sunapee with views toward Mount Sunapee and the surrounding hills. A group of golfers purchased the property in 1998 intent on building a first-rate private equity club for the Sunapee and New London area, and they selected Rees Jones, one of the world's most respected course architects, to design it. Nine holes opened for play in 2001, with the complete eighteen debuting in June 2002. Jones routed the course over rolling New England terrain, using the natural elevation and lake vistas to shape a walkable, strategically demanding layout. The private club has since become one of New Hampshire's most admired modern courses, blending Jones's signature clean bunkering and fair, well-defined challenge with a striking mountain-and-lake setting.
