Cypress Ridge opened in 1999 on the Nipomo Mesa above Arroyo Grande, on the sandy, wind-blown terrain of the Central Coast. It is a Peter Jacobsen Signature course from Jacobsen Hardy Design, and Jim Hardy has said the land was allowed to be "the hero" of the project. The layout winds through a residential community, and Audubon International has certified it as a Signature Sanctuary.
