About Durand Eastman Golf Club

Durand Eastman is a public course in Durand Eastman Park, on Lake Ontario on Rochester's north edge. The park began as the estate of Dr. Henry Durand and was given to the city by Durand and George Eastman. A nine-hole course was already in the park by 1917, Rochester's third public course. The 18 holes played today date to 1934, laid out by the firm of Thompson & Jones while a young Robert Trent Jones Sr. was Stanley Thompson's partner. It's one of Jones's earliest designs. The course rolls through wooded hills above the lake.
