Fort Mill Golf Club

Fort Mill Golf Club grew out of a Springs Cotton Mills recreational complex; local press announced a planned nine-hole course in 1946 and golf opened to the public in 1949. The original front nine was laid out by Donald Ross, whose plans were completed after his 1948 death. A George Cobb-designed back nine expanded it to 18 holes around 1959-60, and a 2008 renovation by Clyde Johnston used Ross's original drawings to restore the front-nine bunkering. The club operates semi-privately, open to daily-fee play.
