Kukio Golf And Beach Club

Kukio Golf and Beach Club opened in 2003 on the North Kona coast of the Big Island, marking Tom Fazio's first and only golf design in Hawaii. Part of a private Discovery Land Company community, the property includes an 18-hole championship course reaching beyond 7,400 yards plus a shorter 10-hole circuit of par threes and short par fours built for casual, family-friendly play. Fazio shaped the holes across jagged lava terrain with more than 400 feet of elevation change, famously describing the effort of walking a bulldozer across the flows to find the right lines. Though set near the coast, the fairways sit back from the water while offering sweeping views over Kakapa and Kukio bays. Striking contrasts of black lava and white bunker sand define signature holes, within an ultra-private, amenity-rich club.
