Merrimack Valley Golf Club in Methuen opened in 1906 and was originally designed by Donald Ross, reportedly one of his earliest New England courses. The 18-hole, par-70 course was restored and redesigned in 2008 by George F. Sargent of New Hampshire. It is a semi-private facility owned by the Kattar family.
