Mira Vista Country Club opened on August 22, 1987, the first new country club in Fort Worth in 15 years. The golf course was designed by the team of Tom Weiskopf and Jay Morrish. Developers purchased 625 acres of ranch land in west Fort Worth in 1985 to build an upscale golf course community; the name is Spanish for "see the view." It is a private club.
