About Oak Hill Country Club

Oak Hill Country Club in Fitchburg, Massachusetts traces to golfers who split from the Alpine Golf Club and bought the former Rose Farm in 1917; Wayne Stiles designed the original front nine, which opened July 4, 1921. In 1925 the club hired Donald Ross to build a back nine on newly acquired land and to redesign the front, giving the course 18 Ross-designed greens; the new nine formally opened July 30, 1927 with an exhibition by Tommy Armour and Johnny Farrell. The private club has since hosted roughly 15 Massachusetts Golf championships, three New England Amateurs and many other events.
