Old Chatham Golf Club

Old Chatham Golf Club grew from a 1999 initiative by Triangle-area business leaders who wanted a pure golf club, free of the pool-and-tennis trappings of a traditional country club. They secured roughly 400 acres of protected woodlands set between Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill, and commissioned architect Rees Jones, working with design partner Greg Muirhead, to route a championship course that opened in 2001. The par-72 layout stretches beyond 7,200 yards and is known for its generous corridors, bold bunkering and firm, contoured greens. It has become a regular proving ground for elite competition, hosting the North Carolina Amateur, U.S. Open final-stage qualifying, and the 2019 U.S. Senior Amateur, with the U.S. Girls' Junior Championship slated for 2026.
