Robert Trent Jones Golf Club

The Robert Trent Jones Golf Club opened in April 1991 on the shore of Lake Manassas in Gainesville, Virginia, and was conceived by the veteran architect, working with longtime associate Roger Rulewich, as a definitive championship statement completed just before the celebrated Alabama trail that bears his name. Routed through rolling, densely wooded terrain, the course features well over one hundred gleaming white sand bunkers, and its closing stretch plays dramatically along the lake, with a peninsula par 3 at the ninth, a par 3 carrying a cove at the eleventh, and a par 4 finish across an inlet. The private club is best known for hosting the first four Presidents Cup matches contested on American soil, in 1994, 1996, 2000, and 2005, each won by the United States, and it later welcomed the 2024 Solheim Cup.
