Est. 1928 · Donald Ross
Why we love this place
The Sagamore is classic Donald Ross in the Adirondacks, faithfully restored and framed by Lake George views. Every hole feels like a step back to 1928, with clever greens and mountain air. A bucket-list resort round for anyone who loves Golden Age design.

About Sagamore Golf Club
The Sagamore Golf Club climbs Federal Hill above Bolton Landing, on the western shore of Lake George, where land for a course was bought as early as 1914. Donald Ross designed and built the course under his personal supervision, and it opened in 1928; the Sagamore resort acquired it a year later, buying it at a discount as the Depression took hold. Over the following decades the course slipped into poor condition, and by the late 1960s it was a shadow of the Ross design. New ownership in the 1980s launched an extensive restoration of the resort, returning the course to Ross's original blueprints and the clubhouse to its 1928 appearance. Today the par-70 layout measures about 6,800 yards and winds through the Adirondack foothills with long views of Lake George, and Golfweek has ranked it among the top 200 resort courses in the country.
