About Scituate Country Club
Scituate Country Club was established in 1919 when summer residents of the Cliffs purchased a former Welsh family farm and built the club; the clubhouse is the original 1779 Welsh farmhouse. The nine-hole course was carved from the old farm amid trees, marsh, river and sea views, and New England architect Wayne Stiles is credited with surveying and enhancing the layout in the early 1920s, lengthening it past 6,000 yards by 1924. The club has been under its current ownership since 1991.
