About Thorny Lea Golf Club

Thorny Lea Golf Club is a private club in Brockton founded in 1900 on land that began as a cow pasture. Its enduring 18-hole layout was designed by Wayne Stiles and John Van Kleek and debuted in 1925; the club hosted golden-era greats including Ouimet, Sarazen, Hagen and Zaharias. Donald Ross surveyed the property around 1923-24 but the club ultimately selected Stiles and Van Kleek.
