Sebonack Golf Club

Sebonack Golf Club opened in 2006 on Great Peconic Bay in Southampton, sharing a corner of Long Island with two legends, the National Golf Links of America and Shinnecock Hills. It is best known as an unusual collaboration between Jack Nicklaus and Tom Doak, two designers with very different philosophies. Owner Michael Pascucci first handed the project to his neighbor Nicklaus, then, after seeing Doak's work at Pacific Dunes, brought Doak aboard as well. Doak produced the routing, setting some holes within a sloping inland forest and others along an elevated ledge above the bay. The finished course stretches to roughly 7,200 yards at par 72, with sweeping fairways, big waste areas, and dune-like bunkering that fits the rolling land. Sebonack hosted the 2013 U.S. Women's Open, won by Inbee Park, cementing its status among the premier modern courses on the East Coast.
