About Stockbridge Golf Club
Stockbridge Golf Club is a historic private, member-owned club on the Housatonic River in the Berkshires, formed in 1895 after J.H. Choate Jr. and Eliot Tuckerman laid out the first holes in 1894. In 1917 Donald Ross was retained to design and build an expanded layout, a multi-year effort given the rugged terrain, and he returned in 1928 and 1931 to revise and add holes. It is recognized as one of the few surviving Ross designs of its kind and is included on the Donald Ross Golf Trail.
