Why we love this place
We love Tierra Santa for bringing daily-fee golf to the Valley. Jeffrey Brauer and Steve Elkington turned flat farmland into a windswept, lake-filled test with quick greens, a course with real championship length that still plays fair from the forward tees.

About Tierra Santa Golf Club
Tierra Santa Golf Club opened in 1997 in Weslaco as the centerpiece of a new residential community in the Rio Grande Valley, and it is described as the first daily-fee course built in the Valley. Architect Jeffrey Brauer designed it, consulting with PGA Tour professional Steve Elkington as he shaped the land. Their raw material was flat South Texas farmland, which they sculpted into fairways that wind among 14 lakes, so water comes into play on most holes. The par-72 layout stretches 7,139 yards from the back tees, and the steady Valley wind, large fast greens and well-placed bunkers make it a stern test from the tips while the forward tees, at about 5,280 yards, keep it playable for everyone. It remains one of the premier public courses in the lower Rio Grande Valley.
