About Whitinsville Golf Club
Whitinsville Golf Club is an authentic Donald Ross nine-hole design in the Blackstone Valley that opened for play in 1925. It was the vision of E. Kent Swift, an executive at the nearby Whitin Machine Works; Ross initially declined for lack of land for a championship course but was secured by the offer of a full 18-hole commission fee. The course has changed little in a century aside from tree work, retaining Ross hallmarks such as small, domed, open-fronted greens and grass-faced bunkers, and is consistently ranked among the best nine-hole courses in the world.
