The Winchendon golf course opened in 1921 and was redesigned by Donald Ross in 1926; it was long known as the Winchendon School Golf Club before operating as Winchendon Country Club. The short, narrow, hilly Ross layout (about 5,512 yards, par 70) has small, undulating greens and remains largely intact from Ross's 1926 work.
