Bandon Sheep Ranch

Sheep Ranch is Bandon Dunes' fifth eighteen-hole course, opened to the public in June 2020. Its story stretches back to 2001, when Tom Doak and Jim Urbina informally laid out thirteen greens on the clifftop parcel while building nearby Pacific Dunes. Owner Mike Keiser later commissioned Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw to craft a full routing, and the pair delivered a par-71 layout of about 6,785 yards running along a mile of Pacific frontage. Nine greens perch directly on the cliff edges above the ocean, and the wide, tumbling fairways demand constant judgment of wind and angle. Most distinctively, the course has no sand bunkers at all, the site is simply too exposed, so grassy hollows and the ever-present sea provide the defense. Many consider its ocean views the most stunning at the resort.
