About Barefoot Resort & Golf - Love
The Love Course is one of four championship layouts at Barefoot Resort & Golf, opening in 2000 as the design contribution of major champion Davis Love III, with architect Paul Cowley collaborating. Widely considered the most balanced of the resort's quartet, it plays to a par of 72 at just over 7,000 yards. Its signature conceit is a set of re-created Antebellum plantation-house ruins woven into the routing around holes three through seven, lending the front stretch a distinctly Lowcountry sense of place. Love drew on Pinehurst No. 2 for inspiration, pairing generous, forgiving fairways with sculpted, crowned green complexes that reward creativity and a refined short game. Turf includes GN-1 hybrid fairways and Champion UltraDwarf greens, and the course is a fixture on Grand Strand must-play lists.
