The club began in 1926 as Colonial Country Club, designed by John Bredemus, often called "the Father of Texas Golf." A group led by Jack Burke Sr. purchased it in 1929, and it was officially established as BraeBurn Country Club on May 5, 1931. The private club underwent a full renovation led by architect Tripp Davis in 2022.
