Oso Beach is a historic City of Corpus Christi municipal course. It opened in 1939 (reaching broader public play by 1946) and is credited to architect John Bredemus (a co-founder of the Texas Open and Texas PGA), with Randolph P. Russell also associated with the design. The course gained fame hosting a "World Championship Four-Ball" exhibition featuring Ben Hogan, Byron Nelson, Sam Snead and Jimmy Demaret.
