About Ebony Hills Public Golf Course

Ebony Hills was established in 1927 as a country club and designed by John Bredemus, the architect behind many early Texas courses; it later became a City of Edinburg municipal course. It is a 9-hole, par-35 layout of 3,022 yards, named for the ebony trees that line its fairways, with a canal running through the property. In September 2026 the City of Edinburg selected Troon (through its Indigo Sports subsidiary) to manage both Ebony Hills and Los Lagos, with a new golf operations building slated to open in summer 2027.
